mlocate software package provides quickly find files on the filesystem based on their name, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mlocate
mlocate is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mlocate package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mlocate *
You will get with mlocate package name, version, architecture and description in a table
